Terms and Conditions for Dodo Etching

Welcome to Dodo Etching (the "Site"), operated by Dodo Etching at dodoetching.com. By accessing or using our website, placing an order, or purchasing products (such as custom laser-engraved wood items), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our Site or services.

1. General Terms

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use our Site or place orders.
  • Account Responsibility: If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining its confidentiality and for all activities under it.
  • Changes to Terms: We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Products and Services

  • Custom Orders: All products are custom-made based on your uploaded designs, text, QR codes, logos, or specifications via our online design software. We do not guarantee outcomes for user-provided files (e.g., low-resolution images may result in poor engraving quality).
  • Materials: Products are made from natural woods (e.g., pine, birch, poplar, bamboo). Natural variations in grain, color, knots, or thickness are inherent and not considered defects.
  • Intellectual Property: You warrant that your uploaded designs do not infringe third-party rights (e.g., copyrights, trademarks). You grant Dodo Etching a non-exclusive license to use your designs for fulfilling orders. We are not responsible for any IP violations in customer uploads.

3. Ordering and Payment

  • Order Acceptance: Orders are not binding until confirmed via email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order (e.g., for suspected fraud or unavailable materials).
  • Pricing: Prices are in USD and exclude taxes/shipping unless stated. We may change prices without notice.
  • Payment: Full payment is required at checkout via our secure processors. No refunds for processing fees.

4. Shipping and Delivery

  • Processing Time: Custom items typically ship in 5-10 business days (longer for high volume).
  • Shipping: We ship via USPS, UPS, or similar. Risks pass to you upon delivery to carrier. Delays due to customs, weather, or carriers are not our responsibility.
  • Lost/Damaged Shipments: Notify us within 7 days of delivery for claims.

5. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

  • Custom Nature: Due to personalization, all sales are final. No returns/refunds except for manufacturing defects (e.g., wrong engraving due to our error).
  • Defect Claims: Report within 7 days of receipt with photos. We may offer remake or refund at our discretion.
  • Cancellations: Possible before production starts (contact us immediately). No cancellations once engraving begins.

6. Limitation of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dodo Etching is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability shall not exceed the order amount.

7. Privacy and Data

  • We collect data as per our Privacy Policy (available on the Site). Uploaded designs are used solely for order fulfillment and deleted after completion unless retained for reorders.

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by California law. Disputes resolved in Riverside County courts.
